Open Space

Finchley Way Open Space is a hidden gem of land in West Finchley, bordered by Finchley Way, Hamilton Way, The Drive, and Penstemon Close. It is just a few minutes’ walk from West Finchley underground station, but hidden behind well-established trees. The main entrance is in Finchley Way, London, N3 1AH (opposite No.6). Few people seem to know about the Space and fewer still that it is owned by Barnet Council and open to the public.

Residents have set up the Friends of Finchley Way Open Space (FoFWOS) to bring the area back into use for the enjoyment of local resident. Establishing FoFWOS came out of developing the West Finchley Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan proposes that the site is designated as green space, which will provide extra protection for the site.

The Friends have a website here, and a Facebook group here.

They are looking for more people to join them. Anyone interested in getting involved should email contact details to fofwos@gmail.com.
