The Battle of Barnet
Paul Baker

Thursday 25 January
7.30 pm at Stephens House

In Paul Baker’s talk, we took a step back in time to the Wars of the Roses, and explored the Battle of Barnet in 1471. We saw how the course of English history was changed on a misty Easter Sunday morning, and heard about the day when three kings of England came to spend the day in Barnet. We will also explored the question of where exactly the battle took place. And there will be some audience participation, so watch out!

Paul Baker qualified as a City of London guide in 2003. Since then, he has been conducting talks and walks in the borough of Barnet, in London, and beyond, on subjects as diverse as Dickens in north London, the French Huguenots, and street art in east London. Paul has lived in the borough of Barnet for the past 35 years.

The meeting took place at Stephens (Avenue) House, 17 East End Road, Finchley N3 3QE. It began at 7.30 pm.
