Dangerous Pavements?
8 p.m. Thursday

Stephens House

Our October discussion meeting at Stephens House focused on the state of the pedestrian environment. Peter Hale, a partner in Hogben and Hale Architects and a long standing member of the Society, described how the pedestrian environment in Finchley has been neglected by Barnet Council. Lack of maintenance is exacerbated by vehicles parked in front gardens, damaged and poorly constructed crossovers, parking on pavements, unkempt hedges, refuse bins and other pavement obstructions. Peter argued that the pedestrian environment will continue to be degraded and residents discouraged from walking unless we press Barnet Council to respect and enhance the pedestrian environment.

You can watch and listen to Peter’s presentation here.

If you live in Barnet and are concerned about the state of pavements in your neighbourhood, you can report damaged or dangerous pavements here.
