Our first online meeting

The Society’s
Visible Presence
Around Finchley
David Coates
Thursday 30 April

Our monthly programme of meetings has attracted large audiences for almost fifty years, but the Covid-19 pandemic has made it impossible for us to hold these meetings for the moment. In order to ensure that we continue to educate and inform our members, we decided to move these meetings “online”.

David Coates, our Membership Secretary, gave the first online talk. He described the plaques and panels that the Society has installed in the Finchley and Friern Barnet area in recent years. His talk gave a glimpse into one of the most important ways in which the Finchley Society makes itself known to the public.

We held this meeting using Zoom, a popular and widely used videoconferencing platform. Thirty-seven members participated in the meeting, which began at 3 pm on Thursday, 30 April and lasted for a little over one hour.
