North Finchley Post Office
Public Consultation Forum
The Post Office is proposing to move the North Finchley Post Office, currently located at 751 High Road N12 8LF to the vacant retail premises that was previously Tony’s Dreamcakes at 831 High Road N12 8PR. The Post Office would be run by OM SAI Enterprise (North Finchley) Limited.
Concerns have been expressed about this decision: the new premises will be much smaller, the Post Office will no longer be a Crown Post Office; and some services may no longer be offered.
There was a Public Consultation Forum run by the Post Office at Trinity Church, 15 Nether Street, N12 7NN on Wednesday 31 January 2018 between 15.00 and 19.00.
The Finchley Society’s Executive Committee asked Lynn Bresler to attend the Public Forum and report to it on the discussions that took place. The Committee thought that the report would be of interest to a wider audience and so asked her to make it available on the Society’s website. You can read Lynn’s report here.
Note: The consultation began on 10 January and will close on 21 February. You can find more information here.
Update (9 May): The Post Office moved to the new premises at the end of April. The new Post Office is located further up the road, at 831 High Road, in the shop that was formerly Tony’s Dreamcakes. The opening hours are 9.00-5.30, Monday to Saturday. It is no longer a Crown Post Office and the premises are being run by a commercial retailer, so there are gift and other items also for sale.
