March – April Newsletter

Barbara Warren died in December. She joined the Society in the 1970s and played a number of important roles in the decades that followed. This issue of the Newsletter recounts her work for the Society. Jane and Silé Milligan add their own tribute to Barbara.
Elsewhere in the Newsletter:
- Planning news, on the Council’s rejection of the Great North Leisure Park proposal, as well as an update on the proposed Finchley Lakeside development on Squires Lane
- From the archives, a brief history of china bearing the Finchley crest
- An initiative to reprint some of the Society’s out of print publications
- A report on the restoration of two war memorials – one originally located at the bus garage in the Burroughs at Hendon, and the other at the tram depot in North Finchley
- The ponds created in Friary Park to control flooding have new inhabitants – a heron and an egret
