Local Heritage List
Consultation

Barnet Council has been carrying out a review of its Local List, a schedule of buildings of local architectural or historic interest, which dates back to 1986. The Local List identifies those heritage assets that have special local architectural or historic interest and contribute to the character of Barnet.

Over the past two years local volunteers have surveyed the borough to identify these assets, including not only entries already on the Local List but also new nominations. A draft List has been produced by a panel made up of Councillors, Heritage Officers, Historic England representatives and volunteers from local amenity societies and residents groups (including the Finchley Society).

The Council is now seeking comments on the draft list. The consultation runs from the 17 July to 9 September. The draft local list can be found at www.barnet.gov.uk/local-heritage-list
