Environment and Transport 
- The Barnet Federation of Allotment and Horticultural Societies was formed in 1965 at the time of the amalgamation of the Boroughs of Finchley, Hendon, the urban districts of Barnet, East Barnet and Friern Barnet into the London Borough of Barnet.

- East Finchley Walks "East Finchley is very fortunate. Not only is it close to Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood and Alexandra Park, well known places to walk, but it has quiet roads and lesser-known public green spaces of its own (many remnants of common land) that can readily be connected together to form a pleasant walk."

- Blue Plaques of London BluePlaque.com is dedicated to providing a record of the plaques that commemorate the many famous individuals have lived and toiled at London addresses,and their work. They also offer the opportunity for anyone to provide, and be credited with, original research on any plaque
- Books on North London have chosen books on North, Northwest and West London from Amazon's vast selection of books on all subjects. If you know of a book not featured, e-mail them and they will be happy to add it to their list.
- London & North Middlesex Family History Society was formed in 1978 to bring together those people living in the area, or whose ancestors lived in the area, who are interested in researching their family history wherever that might be found.
- The Hendon and District Archaeological Society (HADAS) from their base at Avenue House, cover archaeology throughout the London Borough of Barnet. The Hadas Working Party actively conduct field walking, surveying and excavations and have a programme of outings and lectures throughout the year.
- English Heritage English Heritage exists to protect and promote England's spectacular historic environment and ensure that its past is researched and understood.
Archives & Museums 
- Barnet Archives & Local Studies The Centre holds the records of the Borough of Barnet and its predecessors for the areas of Barnet, Edgware, Finchley Golders Green and Hendon.
- London Metropolitan Archives London Metropolitan Archives (LMA) is the largest local authority record office in the United Kingdom. There are 32 miles of archives in our strong-rooms - an enormous amount of information about the capital and its people. The records cover a period of nearly 900 years.
- Church Farmhouse Museum is a handsome Grade 2 listed building dating from the mid- seventeenth century and has regular exhibitions throughout the year.
- Museum of London (includes search facility for archaeological digs in London).
- Octavia Hill Museum The Octavia Hill Birthplace Museum opened in December 1995 in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire to commemorate and record the life and work of Octavia Hill, her family and those who continue her work.

Societies, Trusts and Residents Associations)
- Alexandra Residents Association covers the area between Dukes Avenue and Alexandra Park Road, east of The Broadway as far as Vallance Road.
- The Barnet Society incorporates Chipping Barnet, Hadley and New Barnet, Arkley and the Dollis Valley. It includes two Conservation Areas and several miles of the border between Greater London and the Green Belt.
- College Farm Trust was set up with the aim of raising adequate funds to save the farm from development. This was achieved on 23rd November 2006 when College Farm Trust became the owners of College Farm The farm remains closed to the general public for now, but the College Farm Saddlery and Pet Shop remains open for all animal feeds and equestrian needs.
- The Enfield Society was founded in 1936 as the Enfield Preservation Society (EPS), and renamed The Enfield Society (TES) in 2007. The object of the Society is the conservation and enhancement of the civic and natural environments of the London Borough of Enfield and its immediate surrounding area for the public benefit
- Hampstead Garden Suburb Residents Association is a voluntary organisation open to all residents of the suburb. It can call on members with a variety of specialised knowledge who give their services free for the community
- The Heath and Hampstead Society fights to preserve the wild and natural state of the Heath; to maintain the character and amenities of Hampstead; and to promote the study of local history, natural history and conservation
- The Highgate Society is a voluntary organization living in and around Highgate, London N6. Its primary aim is to makeHighgate a better place in which to live and work.
- Muswell Hill & Fortis Green Residents Association was formed in 1948 as a non-political amenity society concerned with everything that contributes to the quality of life and the environment, including roads, buildings and open spaces in Muswell Hill, Fortis Green and Alexandra ward.
- Spike Statue Fund This is the campaign to raise funds for a statue to Spike Milligan
- The Stephens Collection Henry "Inky" Stephens bought Avenue House in 1874, altered and extended it, adding, among other things, a laboratory, where he carried out his experiments in writing fluid. Many old writing implements, ink, etc. have been collected and are incorporated into a small museum in Avenue House along with other items relating to the Stephen family
- Totteridge Residents' Association The Totteridge Residents' Association was originally formed in 1937 It aims to Preserve the Past, To Protect the Present, To Plan for the Future its interests include planning, transport, traffic, road safety, environmental issues policing
