Consultation on North Finchley Town Centre

Barnet Council is consulting on the draft North Finchley Town Centre Framework Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The SPD sets an approach for revitalising one of the largest town centres in Barnet and will be a material consideration in making decisions on planning applications.

The Finchley Society held a joint meeting with the Friern Barnet and Whetstone Residents’ Association to discuss the proposals on Thursday, 23 November. The meeting was held at Trinity Church Hall, 15 Nether Street, N12 7NN and began at 7.30 pm. A representative of Barnet Council made a presentation on the SPD, which was followed by a discussion and questions.

David Thompson from the Friern Barnet and Whetstone Residents’ Association has written about the Council’s plans in the latest issue of the Finchley Society Newsletter. You can read his article here.

Note: The consultation began on Monday 16 October and will extend to Monday 27 November 2017. You can view the draft and supporting documents online, at Barnet House in Whetstone; and at North Finchley library. You can meet the consultation team and discuss the draft on November 4, 11 and 14 at North Finchley Library on Ravensdale Avenue.
