Walk Safe Squires Lane
Campaign

There has been a spate of accidents in Squires Lane in the vicinity of Manorside School. The `Walk Safe Squires Lane Campaign’ has been launched by parents of children who attend the school, requesting Barnet Council to implement traffic calming measures in this area.

The Campaign has the support of local councillors and the backing of Manorside School. The Campaign asked the Finchley Society for its support: the Society agreed and has written to the Leader of Barnet Council to this effect.

The Campaign was started by a group of local parents with children at Manorside School after a series of crashes along Squires Lane and a head-on collision at the junction of Squires Lane and Long Lane. The Campaign asks Barnet Council to make the road a 20mph zone, for filter lights at the dangerous junction and for a zebra crossing between Manorside and Tudor schools. You can read about the Campaign in the Barnet Times here.

You can find the Campaign’s Facebook page here and its online  petition here.

2000 signatures were needed by March 15th in order for the Council to consider the petition.
