Major Planning Schemes in North Finchley
At the present time much thought is being given to two large schemes in the High Road, North Finchley:

931 High Road North Finchley
The first is an application for 182 apartments and 10 mews houses
with commercial use on the ground floor on the site of the old Police
Garage at 931 High Road. This will have considerable impact both in
terms of density and increased traffic.

Furnitureland site
The other is the Furnitureland site approximately 100 yards away on
the opposite of the road, has not yet officially gone to the Council
although preliminary discussions have taken place for three blocks
of flats, one of which would be for affordable housing and, on the
ground floor, a library and large medical centre with possibly some
retain use. If this scheme goes ahead, the existing library in Ravensdale
Avenue would be closed.

These two schemes, if built, will obviously make a huge difference to the area and must be seriously reviewed.
