Archives at Avenue House
The Society has an Archive of old photographs (including more than
1,500 postcards), maps, press cuttings, old letters and artifacts
in the basement at Avenue House that have been given to The Society
over the years. Cataloguing is a continuous operation.
Access to this archive is by appointment with the Custodian, on Monday mornings between 10.30am and 1.00pm Appointments can be made at other times in the week by agreement with the custodian.
The archive is interested in any suitable material that local residents may possess for which they are seeking a new home.
The archive also has a list of buildings and monuments in the area considered by members to be of interest. Photos of these can be seen here.
Sadly our custodian Maggie Ferguson has died and a new one has not yet been appointed. Meanwhile Tony Roberts is acting custodian. For enquiries about Finchley and Friern Barnet see inquiries
